Time to Talk?

How much spare time do you have?

Do you go to the gym in your spare time? Perhaps you attend evening classes? Or do you belong to a club or society?

If you really think about, the chances are you don't have much time at all. I know I don't.

Still, I find time to talk. In fact, I am learning a language...just by sitting at home.
No, it isn't one of those "Teach Yourself...." books and it isn't a CD-ROM or DVD that teaches you how to ask for 2 kilos of onions from a Spanish market stall (I don't think I've ever had to use that expression in Tesco!).
I am learning online, talking live to a native speaker.
I get to watch videoclips, read websites, complete interactive exercises and type messages to my tutor.
I do this sitting right here, in the chair I'm sitting in now.
What's more, I decide when I want to have lessons, I decide what I want to learn (don't want to learn about buying onions) and I can have lessons anywhere I want, as long as I have an internet connection and Skype.

It saves me travelling to class or trying to find a qualified native speaker here in town and if I can't make it then I can cancel the lesson (giving decent warning in advance).

It's simple. I enjoy it.

So now I do have time to talk!
